About Us

Hello! We’re Dan and Stephanie. We love food. It’s our hobby, really.

We love making food, having food made for us, and just enjoying fantastic meals with friends and family. Since the Conejo Valley offers a very good selection of great places to eat, wonderful grocery stores and great weather for BBQ’ing, we are in heaven here. And since we have lots of opinions on all of those things, we decided to start a library of our thoughts, recipes, restaurant reviews and much more to share with our Conejo Valley neighbors.

Ultimately, we want to open a restaurant one day. Maybe a little burger joint or something. Dan dreams of melting behind a grill all day while I take orders and chat up regulars. I think this should come after travelling the world, but all in all it sounds like a dream retirement to us (or earlier if our lotto numbers ever hit).

More about Dan. He loves to cook! Oh thank heavens for me. He bakes a few loaves of bread each week, and he makes most of our dinners. He loves making food for a group of people - ribs, pizzas, steaks. And he is damn good at it. He is honing his technical skills at Let’s Get Cookin’ in Westlake Village, but learns most of what he knows from trial and error in the kitchen.

More about Stephanie. She loves to eat! Both of her grandmothers are fantastic cooks, one owned a small cafe for a time, and the other was a superb baker. Steph has lots of experience tasting excellent homemade food, and she does love to cook and bake as well. But she is usually bartender, pouring wine or making margaritas for the clan at hand.

Also, watch for educated and exciting contributors who are also food lovers in our little suburban oasis.
